Meet Our Audiologists:
Lisa Richards, Au.D., CCC-A
Dr. Lisa Richards is a licensed audiologist at our Allen location. She first became interested in helping those with hearing problems in 1994 when she was matched with a college roommate who had a profound hearing loss. That chance friendship started Lisa on the road to a career in Audiology. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin, her Master of Science degree in Audiology from the University of North Texas, and her Doctorate degree in Audiology from Salus University.
"I absolutely love to help people understand their hearing loss. Whether I’m testing a young child with a temporary hearing loss caused by fluid in the middle ear or confirming a person’s long term hearing difficulties, I feel that this is my opportunity to teach my patients about hearing and hearing loss. I remember discovering that my grandfather had kept his hearing aids in his bedroom drawer because they didn’t feel good, didn’t sound good, and didn’t help. That was then, this is now. With the hearing aids that are available today, the technological advances have ensured that the hearing aids will be used, loved, and appreciated. As always, the Hearing Centers of Texas offers a 30-day satisfaction period. There’s no greater reward than helping somebody to hear again."
Allison McKenzie, Au.D.
Dr. Allison McKenzie is a licensed audiologist at our McKinney location. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Louisiana State University and her Doctorate in Audiology from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. While at LSUHSC she was the recipient of the Outstanding Student in Audiology Award.
Her initial interest in hearing disorders came when her mother, a special education teacher, introduced her to a hard of hearing student. She had so many questions that her mom sent her to the school Audiologist for answers. Her interest in hearing has now grown to include vestibular conditions as well.
“My goal is to make you or your loved ones hearing and vestibular testing an educational (and enjoyable) experience.”
